That time will come when you fall in love with another bunny, then you just can't resist but to take it home! Well that happened to us and learned the hard way that not all bunnies will get along. On November 2, 2016 we fell in love with a 3 year old, spayed, Holland Lop, named Bow-Peep, we brought her home.

She slowly shared the bonding process, we had her in one cage and Hazel & Walnut in another cage. After 2 days we started supervised one-on-one visits. The Rex's were more dominant the lop, Bow-peep would just submit to Hazel & Walnut. After a week supervised one-on-one visits, we started to do two-on-one visits. They did well, this lasted another week. Finally we could tell that everyone was comfortable and ready to try to be housed together.

Once housed together the real problems started. It wasn't the Rex's like we thought it was going to be! They all got along for the most part, it was Bow-peep who became territorial, she stopped using her litter box, started peeing and pooping everywhere possible. The other issue was with the Rex's, as they love their food, they would push Bow-peep out of they way and she would end up getting less food or no food at all. We knew we needed to change things fast!

We chose to separate the Rex's from Bow-peep. We let Bow-peep be free roam in the whole and Hazel & Walnut had the bedroom. Bow-peep was great, used her litter box, loved to come right up to your lap and ask for love. Things were great until we would go into the room at night.. we would wake up to huge pee spots and lots of poop right outside our door!! Crazy.. she was just so jealous of the other bunnies. We even tried to put her into the spare room, that was even worse because she felt so far away from us.

The whole situation just didn't seem fair for Bow-peep. She was just so loving and just didn't want to share her humans! Who came blame her, the more love the better right?! We thought long and hard. We ran out of options to keep Bow-peep as happy as possible. It was a really hard call, but after 4 months, we chose to have our best friend take her home. Bow-peep went to a single bunny home and she was just so happy!

It was a huge learning experience, we learned how to read bunnies emotions better than ever, understand signs of jealousy, and learnt that not every bunny will get along with each other in the environment there in. Owning a pet is all about learning and growing! Making the right choices for your pets as they cant make them for themselves. Stand up for them & their rights, know that re-homing a pet could be for the best, for you and for themselves.
